Arthur Brouhard "Art" Robinson (born March 24, 1942〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Arthur 'Art' Brouhard Robinson )〕) is an American biochemist, politician and member of the Republican Party from the U.S. State of Oregon. A former faculty member of the University of California at San Diego, Robinson is the president of and a research professor at the Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine, editor of the newsletter ''Access to Energy'' and publisher of the ''Robinson Self-Teaching Home School Curriculum''. He was the Republican nominee for the United States House of Representatives from Oregon's 4th congressional district in 2010, 2012, and 2014, losing each time to Democratic incumbent Peter DeFazio. He was elected Chairman of the Oregon Republican Party in August, 2013, a position he held until February 2015, when he was defeated by Vice-Chair Bill Currier. ==Early life and education== Arthur Robinson was born in Chicago.〔 He received a B.S. in chemistry from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in 1963, and a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of California, San Diego in 1968.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Robinson Versus Pauling Case Files )〕 His doctorial thesis was titled, ''Experiments on the synthesis and spectral characterization of cytochrome-related molecules''.
